Introduction

Quang Ninh is a coastal land in the east – north of Vietnam, countering with China in 170km of borderline. With 200 km of coastal line, the province holds Ha Long bay, one of world heritage, and is potential for forestry and sea products. Specially, here is the provision of 90% of total coal reserve of Vietnam. But not enough, the land also keeps inside the approved history of 300,000 year of human progression, as well as magnanimous history of Viet people during the national struggle and development. Uncountable number of traditional festivals held annually, varieties of historical relicts and, of course, the beauty of Ha Long Bay are things that visitors can not ignore.

Bai Tu Long Bay occupies three quarters of Halong Bay World Heritage site and many islands in Van Don, Cam Pha district. Travelling to Bai Tu Long Bay is off the beaten track and promise to deliver many unique experiences, being far away from touristy sites. In this big area, visitors can find a pristine beautiful natural landscape. Until now, Bai Tu Long still remains a wide unexplored area. Being as beautiful as neighbor Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long has many attractions to visit: Cong Do area, Vung Vieng fishing village, Da Xep Park, Cong Dam area, Thien Canh Son cave, Tra Gioi beach… There are some islands that people living there: Quan Lan Island, Ngoc Vung Island, Cong Dong, Cong Tay Island with many beautiful beaches. In addition, Bai Tu Long bay national park is rich in biological diversity, home of many different flora and fauna.

The Van Don Economic Zone will be developed into a multi-sector marine economic zone by 2040 as targeted in its adjusted overall planning recently approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Van Don is a mountainous island district located in the northeastern province of Quang Ninh. It is home to more than 600 islands, islets, with a natural land area of over 581 sq.km. Its sea area spreads nearly 1,600 sq.km. Accordingly, the development structure of the zone will be divided into two main regions of Cai Bau island and Van Hai islands.
