Buon Me Thuot - Dak Lak Overview

Introduction

Dak Lak ( Đắc Lắc), this is the largest province in the country in Dak Lak plateau, ranging at 400 – 800m from the sea level.  It has 240 km of borderline with Cambodia at the west. The mountainous area occupies 35% of total square leveling from 1,000 to 1,200m. Buon Ma Thuot city ( Buôn Mê Thuột) places 53.5% with flat and fertile lands that advantageous for industrial cultivation, breeding and forestation. Additionally, 12% of land is alluvial soils for rice growing. Forest in Dak Lak has extreme reserve of woods and uncommon animals. Some of elephant flocks are up to 300 concentrated in Buon Don, Dakmil and Easup districts. Hundred farms of coffee, rubber cocoa, tea, pepper and sugar cane. Climate of province is moderate for 2 main seasons and with annual raining level of 1,700 – 2,000 mm.

Center of province, Buon ma Thuot city, is 1,410 km from Hanoi and 628 km from HCMC.
