Ten leading Vietnamese travel agencies together with the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines attended the event together with officials from the national tourism administration and tourism association as well as several localities with high potential in tourism.
Nearly 60 Indonesian businesses operating in the tourism and hospitality sector participated in the forum.
Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Indonesia Nguyen Xuan Thuy took note of the two nation’s strong cooperation recently and pointed to the untapped potential of the bilateral partnership.
Representatives from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) talked about the Indonesian government’s policies to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), especially in the tourism field.
The forum is the first activity to further Viet Nam-Indonesia tourism cooperation. Experts said with many similarities in geography and culture, the two countries share substantial potential to promote and develop their non-smoke industry.
